In another case that wasn’t prosecuted in last week’s General District Court, the Grand Jury brought back indictments against Leroy Thomas Sisk, 49, of Sperryville, on charges of arson, assault and battery and unlawful use of force to impede a law officer. Judge Robertson set a personal recognizance bond of $5,000 arid continued the case until Jan. 27 for pretrial motions. «
Also on Monday, the Grand Jury returned true bills against Jack Leon Rinker and Stanley Edward Smithrcharging them as habitual offenders. Mr. Rinker will be tried by a jury on June 5; Mr. Smith’s case was set over until Jan. 27. fj
In addition, attorney Douglas Baumgardner lodged an appeal of Usters Dodson’s recent conviction on three charges of selling alcoholic beverages without a license. The misdemeanor appeal is set for a jury trial on April 7.
