Applications are available at the Warrenton Highway Residency Office or at the Virginia Employment Commission. Completed applications must be submitted before 5:00 P.M. on January 15,1988. Duties: Serves as service attendant - pumps gas, assists customers on pool' cars. Services and maintains vehicles; maintains record on petroleum commodities. Assists journeyman mechanic in automotive repair and maintenance work, such as removing transmissions, overhauling motors and differentials, etc. Performs housekeeping and grounds work. Performs required paper work, such as time cards, petroleum commodities, HRPS; takes stick readings; picks up parts at local vendors; conducts fiveminute safety meetings twice monthly, and practices job duties in a safe manner. Performs preventive maintenance on certain types of equipment, involving changing oil, and filters, greasing, inspecting and changing tires, balancing wheels, etc. Cleans and paints new parts and parts repaired or welded by a supervising mechanic. Operates light equipment to be moved from one place to another. Keeps tools neat and clean. Qualifications: Knowledge of general automotive equipment. Ability to operate light equipment. Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to read and write and follow instructions. Ability to accurately observe and record data. Must possess valid Virginia Operator's license. Safety shoes are required in the performance of the above duties. Completion of elementary school and/or education, training, or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the work.
