Ruritan beef barbeque The 28th annual Amissville Ruritan Beef Barbeque is set for Saturday, July 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the fire house. Cost of the complete meal of slow-cooked over hot stones for 24 hours beef barbeque, cole slaw, baked beans, rolls, drink, pie and cake, is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Baseball Trophy Day set The Amissville Baseball League will hold a picnic and “Trophy Day” on July 23. Awards will be presented as well as a drawing for an autographed Redskins football donated by Rick Hunt Ford and a Redskins jacket donated by Rankins Sporting Goods. Winners need not be present. The kids are now selling tickets for $1; contest will last until July 23. The community is invited to visit Stuart Field evenings and Saturdays to support the teams and share in the excitement.
