Previously, only highly erodible cropland cropped in two of the years between 19X1 and 19X5 was eligible. For this year’s program there are new provisions that allow land to be eligible without meeting this requirement; if the field or area has evidence of scour erosion caused by out-of-bank flows of water or wetland areas as determined by Soil Conservation Service. Cropland may be offered for CRP if either the eligible field or area floods-at least once every 10 years and has suffered crop damage as a result, or is an eligible wetland area.
