After that column in the last issue I wonder if I can keep going. A kind of, can I top that, situation. I cannot call to mind any special subject so I will just grab about and hope for the best.

Cool Carl called (catchy phrase, what?) last week with a suggestion for the readers. His consort and several others took a ride in a balloon. (An aside thought, you can’t ride in a balloon nor can you ride on a balloon; oh well, on with the story.)

This event evidently ignited Carl’s mental processes and he was reminded of the Republican election campaign. “Entirely powered by hot air. and drifts whichever way the wind blows.”

I live in a house on a comer in Flint Hill, six miles from Washington by way of the Fodderstack Road. In the apartment above is a good neighbor. Her name is Grace Yokum and she is widely known here in the county for her personal charm. She has many visitors and entertains several times a year. She is very active. The unusual thing about Grace is that she is 95 years old.

Grace told me a story not long ago that you may find interesting pnd instructive. It seems that she visited with a relative near Berkley Springs. The relative, a woman, runs a clinic of sorts that encourages and counsels people
