which is Rappahannock County. An acquaintance of mine, from some 25 years back visited the° county last Monday. Her son had an encounter with the law and it was her mission to be in the court room for the indictment as well as visit with him afterward.
She remarked to me that she had lived in the same apartment in Alexandria for 20 some years and that she knows only two or three people that would speak or would help her if she were in distress.
During her brief visit here last Monday many people came to comfort her and showed her sincere concern. One woman, a friend of her son, offered her the hospitality of her home anytime, and as long as she wanted to stay. She was amazed at this show of spontaneous frienship and caring.
You remember I said that, right here, that the people in this county were very special. Even Republicans, have somehow managed to spontaneously catch the local fever and are quite likeable. I worry about them, but they are really nice folks.
I would also like to note that the Cool Carl mentioned above is none other than Carl Coon the creator of some special music that will be presented at the Ki Theater on Sept. 5. We expect everyone to be there. Names will be taken.
