who wish to quit smoking. After introductions and small talk the hostess asked Grace if she had ever smoked.
Grace answered, “Oh yes. I started when I was 16 years old."
“When did you quit?” enquired the hostess.
“When 1 was 84” answered Grace, “and I feel so much better."
The hostess stated that there was a guest in their program that was 65 and felt that she was too old to quit. Grace became the visiting speaker at that moment.
Moral of the story, “You are never too old to quit.”
For some reason this reminds me of a story by James Thurber in fables of our time. I won’t boreyou with the story, but the moral was; “It is better to have loved and lost than to have never lost at all," which seems to me a story in itself.
