The Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be holding a fundraising cook-out from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Sperryville Emporium. Hot dogs, hamburgers, bratwurst with sauekraut, chips and soft drinks will be available. “Everyone is urged to come out and support their local rescue squad,” said an organizer.

54th anniversary
Bob and Virginia Scott of Castleton recently enjoyed their 54th wedding anniversary during a festive evening highlighted by a superb dinner at The Washington Inn. They shared this happy occasion with two close friends and former neighbors, Dr. Paul Richards and his wife Ruth of Alexandria, Virginia who were also celebrating their August wedding anniversary.
