Benefit fashion show

On Thursday, Sept. 17 from noon to 2 p.m. the Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society will host a luncheon and fashion show. The event will be at the Bleu Rock Inn, and will feature collections by Christing Fox, From'Any Angle, For Lucy’s Friends and jewelry from Personal Treasures. All proceeds to benefit the Rappahannock Unit of the American Cancer Society. For ticket information please call Carol Miller at 675-3691.

Shooting match at CVFD

The Castleton Volunteer Fire Department will be starting its annual shooting match on Saturday, Sept. 19 and continuing every Saturday through Nov. 14. Cash and meat prizes will be awarded. The shooting match will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until 5 p.m. No sleeves or scopes will be allowed.

Classes to be held

Apprenticeship related instruction classes for various trade professions, including bricklaying, building maintenance, cosmetology, carpentry, electricity, hvac, industrial maintenance, and plumbing will begin at Piedmont Technical Education at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 14.

The classes will run for ten consecutive weeks, two nights a week. Monday and Thursday, three hours each night.

Auction items sought

Items are needed by Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department for an auction to be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 26. Anyone wishing to donate items should call 675-3615 and leave a message. The auction will benefit the fire department.
