Sycamore Hill House and Gardens, the contemporary bed and breakfast started in January of 1988 by Kerri and Stephen Wagner, was chosen as one of the “52 Great Getaways” of the year in the May, 1993 issue of Washingtonian magazine. The small inn, at the top of Menefee Mountain (above the library) was listed as one of the 5 Mountain Retreats in the magazine article, which included recommended getaways as fer-reaching as the Caribben, Alaska, California, and Montana.

Readers should visit this wonderful small inn in the spring, the article notes, to take full advantage of the gorgeous blpoming dogwood and redbud trees, as well as the spectacular gardens which include some 2,500 irises, daffodils, tulips, lavender, columbine, peonies, and roses. Syscamore Hill House and Gradens, a 52-acre certified national wildlife habitat, features a multitude of flora and fauna, according to the article.
