Welch finished the game after coming on in the sixth inning, getting one strike out and giving up one hit. In that game Richie Lillard got a home run driving in another runner. Then the team lost a much closer game to Central 3 to 1 away Monday. Leroy North pitched the entire game giving up seven hits and striking out nine. At this point the Panther baseball record is three wins and four losses.
Meanwhile the softball team won victories over both Brentsville and Central. At home against Brentsville Friday the Panther girls won 10 to 3. The team jumped out to a 4 to 0 lead in the first inning, then gained three more in the second after holding Brentsville scoreless in that inning with two walks followed by a tripple play.
