Opening Reception

The public is invited to the opening reception of Middle Street Gallery’s Wood Show from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, July 31. The show is an exhibit of artisans throughout the nation working in wood. There is no admission charge to the opening, which will be followed by a slide/lecture presented by Lee Ellen Griffithm juror and Director of Monmouth County Historic Association of Freehold, N.J. The slide/lecture is $5. The Wood show runs through Aug. 29. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-6p.m. Friday-Sunday.

Divorce Recovery Workshop

A Divorce Recovery Workshop will be held at Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. West Street, 7 to 9 p.m., Aug. 6 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aug. 7. The workshop is open to anyone who is separated or going through divorce and seeking “to put life together" again.

There is no charge for the workshop, but registration is requested. To register, call either Shiloh Baptist Association, 829-6947, or Culpeper Baptist Church 825-8192.

Group Meeting Cancelled

The Transplant Support Group, regularly scheduled for the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m., will not meet in August. Watch this paper for furture meeting dates and times.

"Taste of Summer"

Dominion Wine Cellars announces its first annual “Taste of Summer” event to be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, July 31. The tasting will feature some cool wines for hot weather such as the highly acclaimed Blanc de Noirs. The wines will be accompanied by some special summer appetizers and desserts.

The tasting is open to the public and admission is free. The Winery is located just off Rt. 3, West of Rt. 29 in Culpeper. Contact the Winery at 825-8772 for more information.

Bereavement Group to Meet

The Bereavement Support Group sponsored by The Hospice of the Rapidan will meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month at Washington Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Please call 825-4840 for further information.

Walk-in Clinics

The Rappahannock County Health Department is expanding it’s walk-in clinics for the following services: Routine Childhood Immunizations, HIV antibody testing and blood pressure screening which are offered free of charge. The following times are available in August. 9II a.m., Thursday, ifug. 5; 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10; 8:30-11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16 and 1-3 p.m., Tuesday Aug. 24.
