Polic Force?

To the Editor:

You cannot escape the beauty of these mountains, just as you cannot escape the groundwater pollution from chemical fertilizers or the acid rain which is 10 times more acidic on the Appalachian Mountain chain.

Someone said they didn’t recycle their glass, plastic, etc...Don’t you think maybe we need an Environmental Police Force? Because that should be against the law!

The Huntly Dump is a good example of that mentality. If people would take a little bit of extra effort, on a small scale we could probably keep the Huntly Dump open. On a much larger scale all life will have a better chance for survival!

George Allen, the Republican candidate for Governor of Virginia, has been giving us many thousands of dollars worth of warm and fuzzy TV designed to show what a nice fellow he is. It also shows that his career has been that of a full-time politician and a part-time lawyer, and that he has never had any experience whatever in running a 15 billion dollar a year business, the government of Virginia. His most recent paid job was one year in the U.S. Congress, learning how to screw up government, the worst possbile training for a governor. As a rich kid from California, he has never had to sweat out a crop or work at a real job.
