The Rappahannock County Library’s “Peer Amid Books...Read” participants are halfway through another great summer of reading fun. Children of all ages may still join in the fun.
Musician Lorraine Duisit Espinola presented the first program. The children really enjoyed her original music for the nursery rhymes from Clyde and Wendy Watson’s book, “Catch me and kiss me and say it again.” One of the most popular songs was about a thunderstorm which was highlighted with beats from the drum and tambourine. Other compositions were accompanied with music from the harp and bowed psaltery.
Puppets by Pizzazz with Jim Tucker and Mimi Butler aided by the audience, a crocogator, an archeologist, a girl named Gabriel and her pet cricket and Lambchop solved “The Mummy’s Pyramid Mystery” during a special evening program.
