BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION REPAIR WORKER #04701 - Culpeper. Individual to replace and repair concrete and/or wooden bridge and other support structures. Performs heavy manual labor; operates light and medium duty equipment; paints and builds forms for bridge structures; reads plans and sketches; and places and ties reinforcing steel for bridge components. Must know bridge maintenance and construction techniques; be skilled in carpentry and concrete finishing; be able to perform manual labor and operate light and medium duty equipment and power tools; read and interpret plans; and possess safety shoes and a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Salary: $16 458 - $25,129.

TRANSPORTATION CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR #00277, #08223, & #09483 - Culpeper Residency. Individuals to inspect highway contract construction and maintenance work, contract maintenance schedules and road projects to ensure quality control and contract compliance. Conducts on-site inspections of materials, roadways, and structures, including checking lines, grades, and dimensions of work. Compiles and maintains project documentation, such as estimates and progres reports; promotes Department safety policies; and communicates with contractors and the general public. Must know construction methods and be able to read and interpret plans add specifications; use and instruct others in the operation of engineering field equipment; supervise others; meet and communicate with personnel and the general public; and possess safety shoes and a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). May be required to work in the vicinity of devices emanating low level ionizing radiation. Salary: $19,668 - $30,030. NOTE: If the applicant pool for Transportation Construction Inspector is insufficient, applicants will be considered for Inspector Trainee positions. Trainee Salary: $15,741 - $19,668.
