The Board of Supervisors discussed what, if anything, to do about the Disney theme park proposed for western Prince William County and set up times to deal with next year’s budget.
At Monday’s meeting the supervisors began with a presentation on the proposed school budget for the coming year. School Superintendent David Gangel officially presented the $5.8 million budget. Included in that budget is $27,990, the first of 10 years payment for employees who took advantage of early retirement and received credit for five more years service than they had actually worked.
County Administrator John McCarthy explained that the county could save $92,083 in interest payments by paying $187,817 in one lump sum instead of paying $27,990 per year for 10 years. The supervisors decided to see what the
