She was a member of the Leslie Fox Keyser Sunday school class and was the recipient of the 1968 Front Royal United Methodist Church Annual Service Candle award.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathryn A. Johnson of Roanoke; one brother Joseph L. Borden, Jr. and his wife Adele of Westport, Conn.; three grandsons, G. Edward Johnson, III and wife Jenny of Ashland, Michael Reid and wife Donna of Manassas and William L. Johnson of Roanoke; one granddaughter, Susan Lee Reid-Carr and husband Glenwood Carr, Jr. of Richmond; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Beulah M. Borden of Front Royal and several nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Sarah Leu Reid.
