Saturday night is the best for children, with an altered playbill that includes a musical puppet show, a reading form the T.S. Eliot poem, “Journey of the Magi,” and original musical clowning selection, along with “Rupert’s Birthday,” a monologue about the birth of a cow, and a reading with accompanying pantomine.
Both Friday and Saturday nights, 24 young homeschoolers whose parents belong to HEAR (Home Educators’ Association of Rappahannock) will present “The Snowman Who Overstayed,” a melting saga.
Rappahannock County neighbors featured in Open Theatre include well-known herbalist Kathleen Maier in “Madwoman of Chaillot,” Beth Levick and the Eclectics in “Frou, Frou,” Chris White and Howard Coon in “Lie of the Mind,” along with Tutt Stapp-Harris, Virginia and Bob Scott, Cathy Kiley, Linda Heimstra, Joyce Abell, Jean Goodine, and former resident Stuart Eiland. Look for performances by these folks on both nights.
