Neither woman has had her own store before. Mrs. Kramer has a college degree in biology. Mrs. McCabe has a background in marketing, and that, coupled with Mrs. Kramer’s artistic flair, is the combination they hope will bring them success as storeowners.
The store offers “something for everyone” and yet does not give the feeling of being cramped. The back wall is mirrored completely, giving the feeling of a wide open space.
Prices range from $4.50 to $100 for jewelry, and there is a large variety. Some inexpensive pins have farm scenes, flowers and animals. Rappahannock Mudworks wind chimes, plant hangers, and other ceramics are stocked here. They are produced by Flint Hill resident Ken Welk.
The inventory includes sweatshirts with Washington or Rappahannock County embroidered on them. The same designs will be available soon on short-sleeved polo shirts.
Hand puppets are already popular.
Talk of the Town offers free gift wrapping, and is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
