He said training provided by the Disney Company could make high school graduates not planning on going to college “polished and competitive with anyone.” Col. Bingham suggested the county put out a “class act brochure” promoting such tourist attractions in the county as the bed and breakfast businesses, convenience to Luray Caverns and the Skyline Drive, and the “craft center” at Sperryville.

Hampton District representative Mike Massie noted that Mr. Irwin had suggested the theme park will have an impact on county ordinances, and Col. Bingham said it would have an impact on tourism. He suggested the supervisors try to assess what impact Disney will have by going into the community and “from there develop a stratigy to deal with it.”
