The supervisors also received a letter from Theodore Chapman supporting continuation of funding for Operation Safe Haven, the program for at-risk students which has been funded by a federal grant. Funding to continue this program is not included in the proposed school budget.
The supervisors agreed to hold the public hearing on the school budget on Monday April 25 in the high school library, with adoption of the school butget scheduled for their May 2 meeting at 7 p.m. in the courthouse.
Other budget work sessions were scheduled for May 16 and May 23 at 7 p.m. in the courthouse. At those meetings the supervisors will consider other portions of the county budget with a public hearing on the whole budget scheduled for the June 6 meeting and June 21
