Deputy Compton testified that she took the bedsheets, a piece of the victim’s underclothing and the piece of duct tape for evidence. She also notified Major Ed Streapy of the incident soon after it was reported to her by the mother and victim.
The victim also gave a written statement about the attack, she said.
Also testifying for the prosecution was Peggy Christianson, a licensed clinical social worker from the Fauquier * Counselling Center in Warrenton.
According to Ms. Christianson, the victim has been counselled by her since Jan. 14, a total of 10 one-hour sessions.
“She came with complaints of having been the victim of sexual assault,” Ms. Christianson said. “She had difficulty being alone at any time, had recurrent flashbacks of the events, had a great deal of difficulty being anywhere where there was a lot of noise, has violent, nightmares, acute fear of him coming back, and trouble sleeping.”
The victim, she continued, “She is a very agitated, anxious woman who has a great deal of fear. She is suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. She had difficulty being around men, even her boyfriend for a while. She was afraid she might die.”
Jason Hammonds, who said he has known the victim and her boyfriend for four yearS, testified next. He said, “She told me Tommy Taylor had attempted to rape her. I found a piece of gray duct tape on the floor behind the bed. I did
