ter relay teams finished second. The girls’ team of Trade Swift, Tomeka Carey, Betty Jo Shaw and Fran Overdorf had a time of 5:01:51, and the boys’ team of Jason Carter, WilHe Shanks, Timmy Clanagan and Jason Settle finished at 49:78.
The track team will participate in a meet at BrentsviUe with Brentsville and Clarke County on Wednesday, and will be at Page County against Page and Luray next Monday.
The softball team got in only one game in the last week, and they slaughtered Page 21-5. Their record is now 7-5 for the district.
Cari Kerr was the star hitter for the game. She had two home runs and six RBI’s. Marsha Freeman and Leah Marlett each hit three for five, and Bonnie Jewell had two hits. Sharnita Fletcher made two double plays and had two hits. Pitcher Amy Payne allowed just four hits for the game.
The girlB will be playing Clarke County at home this Friday, and will be at George Mason next Tuesday.

Dairy Bowl
Elaina and Lauren Thornhill of Rappahannock County participated in the Northern District 4-H Dairy Bowl on Friday, April 29 at Loudoun County Fairgrounds in Leesburg.
They participated as part of the Culpeper 4-H Dairy Bowl Team in the junior division for youth ages 913.
“Even though they did not place as a team or individual, they learned a lot about dairy management by studying the project materials and participating in the dairy bowl competition,” stated Birgitt Thornhill, their mother and coach.
