Department (totally false).
3. The1 Rappahannock News (based on a rumor) requested a statement from me for their last edition before the election. The rumor was that I had dropped out of the council race to run for mayor (totally false).
4. I had blown up the town water line last week as a dirty trick or had someone else do it for me (totally false).
5. We planned or distributed the voter fraud letter (totally false).
The reports of these lies were i told us by five different sources we deem reliable.
These rumors were attributed to people who supposedly are reponsible residents of the town and county. They would be amusing if the intent was not meant to influence the town’s election.
This type of activity is disgraceful and shows disrespect for the town’s people and their election.
A tax lien or voter fraud is a bona fide issue in any election, if true and accurate. It is not realistic for a person to think that these issues will not surface in a contested election.
Surely Washington, Virginia, deserves better.

Thanked
To the Editor:
On behalf of Spring Mountain School I would like to thank our community for its continued support for our May Day celebration.
We had a wonderful festival this year, with May Pole songs and dances, puppet shows, a treasure hunt, and delicious food. Once again, we really eiyoyed opening a school event to the community.
