Band CarWash
The R.C.S. Bands will have a car wash from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. The car wash will be held in front of the high school and cost is $6 per car. Proceeds will go toward band uniforms. Please support these enthusiastic young people and stop by the car wash!
Homemakers To Meet
The Blue Ridge Extension Homemakers Club will hold their May meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10 at the Extension Office. The program will be on “Prevention of Skin Cancer.” Plans will also be discussed concerning the upcoming International Dinner, hosting the Baccalaureate service and the 4-H Day Camp. Yard Sale Planned
There will be a yard sale at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 115 North East Street, Culpeper from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 14. While there will be no clothing for sale, there will be almost everything else including a kitchen sink.
Services Board To Meet
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold its regular monthly meeting at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10 at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper.
Dance At Amissville
1 The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a . dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 with the band Royal Tones. For reservations call Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
Band Gala
The third annual Band Gala will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 19 in the RCES Auditorium. The evening will begin with the RCHS Band performing “Bridgewater March” and “Canticle,” featuring clarinet soloist David Pierce. Next the RCES Beginning Band will play three pieces including “Second Ending Blues.” Finally, you’ll hear the ligh-hearted “School Bus Blues” by the RCES Gold Band. The evening mil conclude with a finale of fifty musicians performing an enthralling “Legend of Fort Apache. ”
Plant Sale at Wakefield
Wakefield Country Day School presents its annual (and perennial) sale of plants for the summer garden from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. thru Friday, May 6 in the Courtyard, just off the lower lobby. A plaque listing donors to the Rappahannock County Library Building Fund will be unveiled at the dedication of the building at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6.
