Methodists To Participate in “National Day of Prayer”
Amissville. United Methodist Church will have a prayer service at 7 a.m. on Thursday, May 4. Anyone who wishes to join in prayer for the country is encouraged to come for this 30 minute service.
The community is very proud to have had one of its own assisting in the rescue efforts in Oklahoma City. Kathy Cody was part of the team from the Fairfax Fire Department. We saw her on FOX, Channel 5 News last Wednesday evening speaking with a reporter in Oklahoma City about the tragedy and rescue efforts. The community continues to remember all those involved in this tragedy. It appears death toll form the bombing may be close to 200, including many children.
The Ruritan Club will serve lunch at the Ron Mills auction on Waterford Road, Route 611, east of Route 642 on Saturday, May 6.
