The baseball team chalked up its first win last week beating Page County 5-2 on Tuesday.
Then the team dropped a game to Luray Friday 9-7. Meanwhile the softball team lost to Page 14-8 and roared back defeating Luray 20-6.
In the game with Page Tuesday Willie Eastham pitched the whole game giving up two runs on nine hits with only one walk and six strikeouts.
Rappahannock took the lead in the first inning when Jon Digges doubled in James Eastham. Page tied the score in the top of the third inning, but Rappahannock got another run in the bottom of that inning when Paul Brown got a single and scored on James Eastham’s double.
A single by Jason Brown in the bottom of the fourth added two more Panther runs when Adam Bouffard and Griffin Ward scored.
Page got another run in the top of the fifth, but in the bottom of the sixth Rapp added the insurance run when Jason Brown’s single scored Griffin Ward.
Jason Brown led the hitting going 3 for 4 with three RBIs.
In the Luray game Luray got out to a 4-1 lead in the first inning. Rapp got two more runs to bring the score to 4-3, but then Luray added another three runs and led 7-3.
