Later he retracted that statement, saying that the county had contributed $2,001 to the cost of the study.

Richard Keller of Kellerco said the county needs to consider the plans “to prevent problems we see in developed areas.” He said some of the reasons for highway congestion are traffic volumes that exceed road capacity, strip commercial development, incremental site plan approval, a lack of interjurisdictional cooperation, and a lack of coordination between land use and transportation studies.

Melinda Alexander asked how such plans could be justified on the basis of highway counts that are suspect. Lyle Alexander asked the supervisors to drop all plans for bypassing the villages after saying that neither of the two businesses in Woodville
