The sound starts out from a solid base of old-time New Orleans jazz and quickly breaks into an infectious blend of big band, Zydeco and rock and roll.

The Bluemont Summer Concerts are presented by Bluemont Concert Series in partnership with local towns, businesses and families. Bluemont relies on more than 1,200 volunteers each summer to ensure that performances go smoothly.

RAAC Movie

The Academy Award-winning film “Dead Man Walking, “ staring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn, will be shown at The Theatre in Washington at 8 p.m. this Friday, June 19.
This film recently received yet another award, the Humanitas Prize, given to movies and TV shows with positive human values. Judges chose the film over more than 500 other scripts, citing its “unflinching look at the horrendous consequences of murder, whether carried out by an individual or the state.”
The cost of the movie is $5. There is no RAAC Friday night movie in August. The film series will resume with “Mr. Holland's Opus” on Sept. 20.
