receiving the award. It is given in memory of Sgt. Charles E. Murray Jr. of Fauquier County who died in July, 1990. Sgt. Murray taught classes at the Criminal Justice Academy and was known as a model law enforcement officer.
Deputy Jenkins attended the academy for 12 weeks, commuting daily to Fredericksburg. He was hired earlier this year as a jailer, and will soon be working as a deputy on the road.
