Captain Stalls worked for the Lane Penncarva Pipe Company before-joining the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office in 1962.
He retired in 1991 from the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office after 29 years of dedicated service both the Warrenton Police Department and the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.
He was employed by Rokeby Farm of Upperville, at the time of his death. ' He was a member of the Fauquier Law Enforcement Association.
Joseph Higgs Jr., Sheriff of Fauquier County stated that “Captain Stalls was a model law enforcement command officer, his contributions to the Fauquier County Sheriff’s office, the law enforcement community and to the citizens of Fauquier County will be cherished and appreciated for years to come.
His ability to quickly adapt to the new technical concepts in the late 70’s and manage those policing concepts until his retirement, helped Fauquier County achieve its professional image it enjoys today.
Captain Stalls loved the people' who worked with him and he lqved his community. What more could you ask for in a law enforcement officer? He was a gentleman’s gentleman and a true professional who will be missed but, never forgotten.” * *
He is survived by his wife, Pat* Stalls of Amissville; four sons, Sam Stalls of Warrenton, Ken Neeld of Winston-Salem, N.C., David Stalls of Robersonville, N.C. and Rudolph Stalls of Greenville, N.C. and one ; daughter, Susan Fairall of Warrenton. ;
He is also survived by five sisters, Ruby Thompson of Robersonville, N.C., Betty Caudill of Reva, Chris Freeland of Beaverdam, Peggy Lewis of Washington, 111., Mildred Haislip of Williamston, N.C., and Elaine Phelps of Chocowinity, N.C.He
is also survived by two grandsons, Zachary and Luke Stalls.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 18, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton, at 11 a.m., with interment in the Bright View Cemetery in Warrenton.
