Campers also went swimming. Kyla and another counsellor, Ashley McNeely agreed that this was the best although Ashley thought “It was all fun.”
Before going home there was an assembly each afternoon. Monday campers went on a nature walk and on Tuesday Mike Dunnigan told them stories. On Wednesday Greg Peterson brought in two snakes and several turtles and on Thursday two customs dogs were brought in.
Camper Bobby Jo Brown enjoyed Mr. Dunnigan and Mr. Peterson best. Her older sister, counsellor Amanda Brown, felt that the assemblies were the overall highlight of camp.
There was also plenty of social time for everyone to get to know one another.
“When I was a camper I used to think that it was the biggest honor to be spoken to by one of the counsellors. Now I’m a counsellor and am honored when one the campers speaks to me,” one counsellor commented.
Friday morning was spent playing games. This.,yyas followed by a coyered dish luncheon for the parents and an assembly during which teachers and teens were thanked and each camper recieved a certificate.
