At the high school Principal Jack Raines said, “We even had water.” He said the first day under the new block schedule had gone very smoothly. He - took time during the day to hold tu—wmMiet with-each-clasaand go over rules and expectations.
“It went great,” he said of the day. He said one eighth grader managed to have two lunch periods and a few students had troyble working the combination locks on their lockets.'
He said the first feedback from the teachers on the, block schedule was “positive. If we have 179 more days like this one, it will be a good year. I didn't have a single discipline problem.”
There were 636 students at RCES and 369 at the high school.
Normally attendance picks up throughout the first and second weeks of school.
On Tuesday there were 1,021 students in school. The elementary school had picked up 10 more students and the high school six more.
