John Settle
John W. Settle, 49, of Rixeyville died at Culpeper Memorial Hospital on Saturday, August 24.
He was bom on August 30, 1947, in Rappahannock County, to the late Moffett Cloud and Janie Elizabeth Settle.
Mr. Settle was a 30 year member of the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department and held numerous officers and was the current President.
He has been with the Culpeper Little League for 26 years and the President for the past 10 years. He has also been past President of the Culpeper Youth Football league and also held other offices.
Mr. Settle is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia Ann Settle, and three sons, Marie W. and his wife, Karen A. Settle of Culpeper, David A. Settle, and Christopher B. Settle both of Rixeyville and one grandson, Brandon M. Settle of Culpeper.
He is also survived by four brothers, Frank Settle of Culpeper, Bob Settle of New Baltimore, Bill Settle and Carroll Ray Settle, both of Amissville, three sisters, Delsie Heflin of Culpeper, Linda Settle and Patricia Settle, both of Rixeyville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 27 at Hope Hill Baptist Church with the-Revs. John
