and accept Hale & White’s bid with the stipulation that their engineer would go over the packet and perform minimum on site inspection while the project goes on.
Mr. Hale said he is all for that and expected no less.
The board made the following motions: to declare an emergency and reject all bids on the basis of safety, time line for school starting and the unstable nature of the current roof; to draft a letter of intent to Hale & White to contract for £ roof replacement, with proposed modifications and pending review by the board’s engineer, for the amount of $184,018; to retain Wise & Associates as consulting engineers to review plans and oversee construction; and draft a letter outlining the other motions.
The Board of Supervisors said this week that they will not go over the $150,000 previuosly alloted for the roof.
