Art camp scheduled
Children from age five to 12 are invited to attend ArtCamp at the Rappahannock Recreation Center the end of. July and the beginning of August. Jeanne Drevas will be! teaching Clay and Sculpture from July 27-31. Laurie; Marshall will be teaching Drawing and Painting Aug. 3-7.' Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and costs $40. Amissville carnival this week
Amissville volunteers open their annual carnival' tonight, June 24 and the fun will continue through Saturday, June 27. In addition to the annual Thursday parade at 7 p.m., there will be a queen crowning ceremony on Friday night and awarding of prizes on Saturday night. Box suppers will be available Thursday, while hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries, funnel cakes, snow cones and drinks will be plentiful each night.
The midway will feature thrilling rides along with booths and games, some new this year. Ride prices are $8 for Wednesday night and $10 for Thursday-Saturday.
