Cornwell praised the group later for staying focused for over 90 minutes and for respecting each other despite obvious differences of opinion. She added the next meeting would be exciting because the group will prioritize the categories and they will envision the future Sperryville. From there they can write a mission statement, which is helpful in writing grants, she said. The third session she leads will be to problem solve how to arrive at their vision.
Martin Woodard, vice-president of Faith Mountain Company and committee board member, invited Cornwell to facilitate the meeting. She received her 18-month leadership training from the military and is employed by Faith Mountain Company as a human resources manager.
The next committee meeting will be on Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall.
