Tb Kathy Holster, opening her Countryside Farm Market beside the Amissville Mayhugh’s Store on U.S. 211 was fulfilling her life’s dream.
Surrounded by the bright colors and heady scents of fresh flowers, potted herbs, and right-off-the-farm produce, Holster glows with enthusiasm. “I used to do this during summers in McLean when I was in college," she explained. “I started out with one bag of corn and a box of tomatoes. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do since. The time was right for me to get back into it."
Holster and her husband Dan set up the small tent-covered stand a few weeks ago to cater to the local and commuter trade.
“The response has been wonderful," said Holster. “People are here right at 9 a.m. on Saturday mornings. Some of them come back every day," to check out the different varieties of fruits and vegetables she
