which specified what the county intended to do with the land and which included a diagram, very much like the current one they are using, of the planned facility. He said the county had been “up front” about it from the beginning.
The Andersons said they still had concerns about the use of the property and felt it should be further looked into. McCarthy told them that then state is charged with proper maintenance, containment and storage for anything they keep on the site and for not allowing any improper discharge. He also said they must get permits from the Department of Environmental Quality for any discharge they will have.
The board voted to approve the sale of 8.13 acres, on Route 622, to VDOT for $11,000 per acre or $89,491. It includes the grant of land by the county for the purposes of road construction and of an easement for construction and maintenance of a storm water facility.
