the Greve Foundation money must be matched by a proposal for improvement that would cost nothing. Any plan must be system-wide, not for any particular class or grade.
Among many things, the council decided to examine what is now known as the Effective Schools Research, and to use it as a frame of reference. Specific plans include sending staff members to training, brightening trainers into the schools, and hiring a part-time coordinator to support staff training and communication. The council will continue as an elected school council which will oversee the program. A separate committee within Headwaters will also have an oversight as Greve Foundation funds are spent.
Non cost items, besides the continuing council, include a commitment by the school system to relieve stress on teachers and to provide strong inservice training programs for staff, not canceling them for the snow make up days.
