Paul Howard Preston, 97, of Washington died Saturday, July 4 at his residence.
Mr. Preston was bom June 26, 1901 in Loudoun County.
He was retired as the superintendent of the D.C. Department of Corrections and was at the D.C. Jail Division from 1964-1966. He was a former member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 2284, New Port Richey, Fla. and a member of the Tarpon Springs Power Squadron, Tarpon Springs, Fla.
He is survived by his son John H. Preston and daughter-in-law Ruth L. Preston of Washington.
Other survivors include six granddaughters, one grandson and 18 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Ellen Preston in 1990.
Grave side services were held on Monday, July 6 at Lakeview Cemetery in Hamilton conducted by the Rev. Philip Bailey.
