The shop carries many unique items for purchase that would make fantastic wedding, birthday or Christmas gifts — like the exquisite crystal ornaments by Waterford or the filigree brass ornaments by Baldwin — for those people who are difficult to buy for but is primarily a lighting shop.
There is tin ware (an extensive selection), wrought iron, brass and sand cast brass (made by pouring brass into a mold), glass and crystal. All outside lighting fixtures are handcrafted with a process used in Colonial times and with a skill and dedication not found in items that are massproduced. Styles include items inspired by the Georgian era, Olde English, Federal, French countryside, Early American primitive and even a White House collection (for foyer and hall lighting).
“Many of the fixtures I carry would be ideal for bed and breakfasts looking to match the lighting styles to the homes they have renovated or for those looking for unusual lighting fixtures,” Hallissey said.
The shop also has handcrafted redwood posts available for mounting outside lighting fixtures.
The wrought iron and some of the brass and tin fixtures — along with other items such as trivets, fireplace tools — are produced by Virginia Metalcrafters in Williamsburg who continue the time-honored tradition of hand crafting each piece. She also carries Waterford crystal lamps and Baldwin brass lamps and floor lamps.
A very unique item are the various styles of handsome metal and wood chandeliers by Virginia Metalcrafters which can be customized for color coordination to match the paint in your home.
