Dell Ennis was first mentioned in this paper in January 1977 as a hard-luck story.
His father had died six months before and the family’s home and store in Morrisville, both insufficiently insured, had burned to the ground that Christmas. The 18 year-old then went into business for himself, buying a truck and spreader with loans from Bealeton farmer C.L. “Boots” Ritchie and the State Bank of Remington.
