“Thankfully, nothing came of this situation, but it did have the makings for a horrible tragedy,” said Donald Gore, resident engineer for VDOT’s Culpeper residency. “It just reinforces the need for children and adults alike to avoid playing in snow banks alongside the road. After all the roads are cleared, we go back and push that snow off the shoulders and try to open up the right-of-way as much as possible to make room for future snow.”

Added Gore: “You’re more than welcome to take all that snow from the edge of the road and build as many snow forts you want in the safety of your front yard.”
