Accomplishments: Mel Paratore is a familiar face in both . Rappahannock County Schools. She began volunteering at the schools the first year the Paratores moved into the county * in 1988. Four years later, she was hired as an office aide at the elementary school. She was promoted to the finance department at the school board office where she is now the administrative secretary to Dr. Gangel, the School Board secretary, and the "policy person". Mrs. Paratore is thankful to have had the opportunity to know so many of the children in Rappahannock County. Mel's daughter Lori graduated from Rappahannock County High School in 1993, her daughter Katy graduated in 1998, and her son Frank graduated in 2000. All three children were involved in - sports and extracurricular activities that Mel-enjoyed ^ supporting. All three children received academic and athletic ..honors. ----- - Paul Paratore, Mel's husband, r has coached several sports at the high school. Mel's older daughter Lori is married to Gerald Foley and they have blessed MeLwith a beautiful granddaughter, Taylor. Mrs. Paratore is a member of the Amissville Baptist Church and has volunteered with the Vacation Bible School. Besides volunteering in the schools "after hours" for various programs, she has worked with the Sheriff s Department "Shop with a Deputy" Program, _ Trinity Church's House Tour and the Washington Fire Department's Fourth of July Celebration.
