Construction is underway at the Rappahannock National Bank in Washington installing a new automatic oil furnace furnishing heat for the banking quarters and the four offices upstairs. Edith Bonnelli of Manhattan, N Y. arrived Wednesday at "Mt. Prospect" the home of Mr. and Mrs. WA Miller, where she will visit for a month. Edith is nine years old and is one of the "Fresh Air" children from the city who receive placements in country homes during the summer through the New York Herald Tribune Fresh Air Fund. John Turner, 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Turner received the first prize in a shooting gallery contest which was held Wednesday, July 12 during the carnival sponsored by the Front Royal Garden Club for the benefit of the Warren Memorial Hospital at "Meadowbrook Hall," the home of Mrs. William P. Slaughter at Huntly. John's score in the contest was 18 points, and the second highest score of 14 points was made by Bob Cook a veteran from Flint Hill. Collect your dozen children and get down to Pitts Theatre in Culpeper on Tuesday or Wednesday, July 25-26 and the manager will hand you passes for yourself and all the family. The movie is the now famous story of the Gilbreaths, "Cheaper By The Dozen."
