The Rappahannock 12 and under All-Stars have had an exciting two weekends. First, the team represented us in district play, which was held in Greene County.
The All-Stars first opponent was Northside from Charlottesville.
Jason Jenkins took the mound for Rapp. In the first inning Northside scored one run on one hit and this would be all the runs Jason would allow in his three innings pitched. Will Miller came on in the fourth, he also gave up only one hit, but Northside would score two runs. Brandan Smoot came on in the sixth not allowing a run. Jason finished with five strike outs, "Will had two and Brandan one.
Rapp had ten hits for the game. Alex Sharp and Matt Weise had two hits a piece, while Ben Hahn, Danny • Holden, Will Miller, Karl Thornhill and Ben Willoughby each contributed with one. The All-Stars won the game 10-3.
On Saturday the All-Stars would face Madison. When Madison took the field, Rapp looked a little intimidated because of their size, but this would not stop them, the AllStars rolled past Madison in four innings 10-0. Alex Sharp was on the mound allowing no runs, striking out four and allowing only one hit. Brandan Smoot relieved in the fourth allowing no hits and giving up one walk. Alex Sharp, Jason Jenkins and Matt Weise had two hits a piece for the Rapp All-Stars.
Rapps next opponent would be Greene County, the host of the tournament. The All-Stars would falter a bit in this game, losing 6-0. Rapp ! swung the bat well, but it I seemed like it went directly to a Greene player. Jason Jenkins was the losing pitcher.
