Farm Fair
Fifty-first annual Farm Fair
to begin next week.
Beginning Thursday, July 27, the county's 4-H
Club members, Extension Homemakers and
other residents will be exhibiting their livestock, culinary creations and crafts at the annual Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Fair at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises, south of Culpeper.
Each year, the exhibitors put a lot of time, effort and money into the animals and products, which they display at the Farm Fair. * We hope that county residents will take the time to Visit the exhibition during the weekend to see the results of their neighbors' efforts. Each year, Rappahannock's residents bring home many ribbons from the competition, sometimes the only reward they receive for their efforts.
The livestock exhibitors’ animals are often purchased at auction by local businesses, which provides the youngsters with some reimbursement for the expenses they incurred raising the animals. We join the 4-H Club members in thanking those businesses and individuals for their generosity and support.
For years the Farm Fair has produced a catalog and several times Rappahannock 4-Hers have won the catalog contest. And, again this year Rappahannock resident Austen Rhein won the front cover design. We congratulation Austen on this accomplishment.
Make plans to attend the Culpeper-MadisonRappahannock Farm Fair July 27-31 and support the Rappahannock 4-H children and programs.
