A pavilion is underway on the Recreation Center grounds at Washington and a playground for small children is being planned. The Rappahannock Woman's Club presented the Recreation Center Chairman T. Graaff Eastham with a check for $1000 for playground equipment. The club has taken the playground as a continuing project. Rappahannock's Planning Commissioners have met twice in the last week with Donald Weil, trying to determine the specifics of Weil's plans to develop the Rappahannock Ski area into an all-year resort, but they have made no recommendations. Donna Faye Cannon of Castleton had the reserve champion Angus steer at the Virginia Junior Breeders Show held at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises on Monday. The steer was bom and raised on her father's farm, El Rancho Grande. Dr. Ike Eller, judge for the show, presented the ribbon.
