Join our group of enthusiastic cyclists in the heart of Rappahannock County, Virginia for the fourth annual RoughRide on Saturday, Sept. 23. which will feature 12, 35 or 60-mile paved tours and 20 or 30-mile paved and unpaved courses for the rough and rugged. Enjoy the hilly terrain, beautiful scenery and generous hospitality.

Plan on spending the afternoon visiting quaint village stores and antique shops in the historic town of Washington.

Building

Permits

The Rappahannock County Building Office reports for the period running May 22 through June 21 the following permits were issued:

For the month, the office issued six new home permits, five addition/remodel/renovation, four new shed/barn/garage permits.

Miscellaneous permits included two renewal permits, two permits to construct a deck, one permit to replace shingles, one permit to replace siding and one permit to construct a pool house.

The Building Office also reviewed 13 sets of plans; had 168 schedule^ inspections; eight walk-in consultations and nine scheduled consultations.

The year to date totals are: 26 new home construction and one commercial building for the year.
